ORAN (Algeria)- The participants in a conference on "management of public libraries and new technologies" called Monday in Oran for more interest in the virtual library, which constitutes a "better window on the latest scientific knowledge." Prof. Abdelkader Abdel Illah, head of a research team on computer system and archives at the University of Oran (432 km west of Algiers), said the virtual library contains writings and documents for readers seeking scientific knowledge and data through practical systems. Such kind of libraries allow reading of the results of recent scientific studies and researches, especially as they are connected to the Internet and Intranet, Abdel Illah said in a paper entitled "Management of Public Libraries."
