TAS: Bacon plays down health concerns

LAUNCESTON, Tas, Feb 21 AAP - Ailing Tasmanian Premier Jim Bacon today played down
concerns over his political future, saying he intended to spend the weekend having fun
at the footy.
In the state's north to name a new grandstand at Launceston's York Park, he did not
field questions from an anxious media following reports he would stand aside on Monday
because of ill health.
Mr Bacon, 53, is believed to have a lung tumour and is expected to announce his political
future in Hobart on Monday.
